International course Digital Health Empowerment and Nursing Innovation goes Live!

Op 17 Jul j.l was het zover, de allereerste internationale cursus van de WeLL Academy ging van start met een college van Prof. Dr. Mattijs Numans.
Via een intensieve samenwerking met de School of Nursing of Guangzhou Medical University hebben we een blended onderwijsprogramma ontwikkeld dat studenten uitdaagt om na te denken over de (digitale) gezondheidszorg van morgen, vooral met betrekking tot de toekomstige ontwikkeling van hun rol als verpleegkundige. De cursus omvat lessen over eHealth, medisch onderzoek, patiënten participatie en gedeelde besluitvorming.
Over een periode van vier weken werd studenten gevraagd om na te denken over hun rollen en verantwoordelijkheden als toekomstige verpleegkundigen en te leren over en te reflecteren op de nieuwste wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen. Daarnaast hebben zij hun eerste stappen in het wetenschappelijk onderzoek gezet door het gezamenlijk schrijven van een onderzoeksvoorstel.
On 17 Jul, the very first international course of the WeLL Academy was launched with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Mattijs Numans.
Through an intensive collaboration with the School of Nursing of Guangzhou Medical University, we developed a blended education programme that challenges students to think about tomorrow's (digital) healthcare, especially with regard to the future development of their role as nurses. The course includes lessons on eHealth, medical research, patient participation and shared decision-making.
Over four weeks, students were asked to reflect on their roles and responsibilities as future nurses and learn about and reflect on the latest scientific developments. They also took their first steps into scientific research by jointly writing a research proposal.
