About our privacy policy
The WeLL Academy cares about your privacy. Therefore, we only process data that we need for (the improvement of) our services and treat the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to using the website, the online learning environment and the services of the WeLL Academy derived from it. This privacy policy describes what data about you is collected by us, what this data is used for and with whom and under what conditions if any, this data can be shared with third parties. We also explain to you how we store your data, protect your data against misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you provide to us. The effective date for the validity of these terms and conditions is  16 july 2023.

About the data processing

Purpose of the data processing

The general purpose of processing
We will use your information for the sole purpose of providing our services. The purpose of the processing is always directly related to the task you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use these data - other than at your request - to contact you later, we will ask you for your explicit permission. We will not share your data with third parties to meet accounting and administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to secrecy by the agreement between them and us or under oath or legal obligation.

Automatically collected data
Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed to improve our service further. This data (e.g. your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations
In appropriate cases, by law, World eHealth Living Lab may be required to share your data in connection with governmental fiscal or criminal investigations. In such a case, we are forced to share your data, but we will resist within the possibilities offered by law.

Retention periods
We will retain your data for as long as you are our client. We will keep your client profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. We will also interpret this as a request to forget if you indicate this to us. According to applicable administrative obligations, we must retain invoices containing your (personal) data; we will therefore retain this data for as long as the appropriate term lasts. However, employees no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have produced due to your instructions.

Privacy and personal data
We take your privacy very seriously. We need to collect and store your personal information to provide access to this site.
A part of this site is open to everyone to subscribe and follow open courses, and as such, any data you post in forum discussions or elsewhere can be seen by anyone and may be quoted, copied or used elsewhere.  You are responsible for not posting data you want to keep private.
We respect your privacy, and as a participant, you do not have to use your real name to sign up.  However, be aware that any badges/ certificates you earn will display your name exactly as you entered it here.
An email address is required for this site to work correctly. Again, we respect your privacy, and your email address will not be shared beyond those running the courses or sold to any third party.
For the various national and international courses, user information is separated from each other via separate, secure environments (e.g. tenants).

What is collected?
We collect the data you provide when creating an account, such as name and email. We also collect data about your activity on the site, including any contributions you make.

How is this information used?
This information is used to provide access to the online courses on this site and so that te WeLL Acadmy running the courses can contact you with improvements and suggestions regarding your use of this site. Accessing our site permits the WeLL Academy and its relevant Certified Partners to send you such information.

How long is my data stored?
Your personal data is stored as long as your account is active on this site.

Your rights
Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you, as a data subject, have certain rights concerning the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. Below, we explain these rights and how you can exercise them.
We keep a record of completed requests; in the case of a forgetful request, we administer anonymised data. In principle, to prevent misuse, we only send copies and copies of your data to your already known email address. If you wish to receive the data at another email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. You will receive all copies and data in the machine-readable data format we use within our systems.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Authority if you suspect that we are misusing your personal data.

Right of inspection
You always have the right to see the data that we process (or have processed) and which relate to your person or can be traced back to that person. You can request that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data at the email address we have on record, together with a list of the processors who hold this data, stating the category under which we have stored it. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days.

Right to rectification
You always have the right to rectify the data we process, or have processed, which relates to your person or can be traced back to that person. You can request this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will confirm at the email address we have on record that the data has been amended.

Right to restriction of processing
You always have the right to restrict the data we process (or have processed) that relate to or are traceable to your person. You can request this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you confirmation at the email address we have on record that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right of portability
You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to you, carried out by another party. You can request this effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies or copies of all the data about you that we have processed or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties at the email address provided to us. In all likelihood, we will no longer be able to continue providing services in such a case, as the secure interconnection of data files can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights
In appropriate cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your data by or on behalf of World eHealth Living Lab. If you object, we will immediately cease processing your data pending the resolution of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will provide you with copies and/or copies of the data that we process or have processed and then cease processing the data permanently.
You also have the right not to be subjected to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data so that this right applies. Please contact our contact person for privacy matters if you believe it does.
